When Armstrong World Industries acquired Turf Design in 2021, the goal was to establish a state-of-the-art headquarters that seamlessly integrated office space, research and development, a showroom, full-scale production, high-pile storage, and distribution. DSI was engaged as the design-build general contractor, managing the project from initial concept through completion.

Located in Gilberts, IL, the new 50,000 SF production headquarters is a multifunctional facility designed to support Turf’s growth and innovation. Our Oak Brook team provided interior architecture and design services, delivering a thoughtfully crafted environment that enhances collaboration and efficiency. The 7,000 SF office showcases Turf’s signature wall and ceiling products while reflecting their culture and commitment to design excellence. A dedicated research and development area—a first for Turf—enables real-time product development and installation, reinforcing their industry leadership.

The facility also features a state-of-the-art showroom and a unique client experience element, offering an immersive way for visitors to engage with Turf’s innovative solutions. On the production side, 28 new pieces of equipment were installed, increasing manufacturing capacity by 50% and significantly improving operational efficiency.
