Greater Chicago Food Depository

With more than 700 partners across Cook County, The Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) ensures nutritious food is available all year round to our neighbors in need. GCFD, in concert with the JLL PDS team, selected DSI to renovate their existing space by expanding freezer/cooler storage systems, updating refrigeration technology as well as interior renovations throughout.

This 213,377 SF office and warehouse space included a renovation of the office and training space as well as the warehouse and packing facility. DSI was proactive in identifying issues with the trades to helps minimize cost to the client and was also able to surpass the MBE/WBE goals by utilizing 31% MBE and 5% WBE to complete the renovation.

This project was completed in three phases while the facility remained in operation and open to the volunteer program. This made it incredibly important for DSI to maintain strict safety precautions and be diligent with scheduling. DSI is proud to have helped GCFD renovate their space to be more efficient and ultimately help more families in need.
