CAkiba-Schechter Jewish Day School has been providing secular and Judaic education to a diverse community of children throughout Chicago since 1972. In 2005, Akiba-Schechter added a new elementary school building to their Hyde Park campus. This new building, joined to the original pre-school space by an all-glass atrium, was designed by renowned architect John Ronan and recognized with the AIA Distinguished Building Award.
DSI was selected to complete an extensive renovation of the original building, in order to complete the transformation of the school’s new campus. Scope of work included new doors, windows, flooring, ceiling, millwork, modern lighting, a completely new HVAC system and interior finishes.
Work was completed in 12 weeks, allowing classes to commence as scheduled.
